Donald Miller, CFP®
Don has been providing investment advice and financial services to individuals and businesses in Minneapolis / Chicago and across the country for more than 28 years. Don founded the General Midwest Financial Alliance in 1989 and has expanded the practice to include areas such as Fargo, Phoenix, and South Florida. He’s established a respected presence in many smaller cities throughout the Midwest as well.
An expert in estate, tax, education, retirement, and investment planning, Don has held the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation since 1987. Don is particularly passionate about assisting small business owners with everything from business continuation strategies to employee benefits and pension design. In 2008 and 2009, Don was selected by the Winner’s Circle as a Top Independent/RIA Wealth Adviser*. In 2009 and 2010, he was recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager**.
After six years of active duty with the US Army, and ten years spent as a critical care nurse; in 1983 Don graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Minnesota. Besides enjoying a lifetime of serving others, he also enjoys the outdoors – hunting and fishing, golfing, and playing softball and volleyball. He and his wife live in the Twin Cities and have two sons and one daughter.
